Pansy garden and old quilt...

Its a beautiful day here today as long as you can find a place in the sun thats out of the wind and as I look out of my window I remember that I have not shown you my pretty pot of pansys. I am not really much of a gardener preferring to stitch instead but I do love splashes of colour in pots around my garden.
Today I think its also time to show you another of my old quilts, this one I have very little information about it is quite large 93" square, about 1840's so the sale tag said! Made from a wonderful variety of Civil War fabrics in a simple nine patch. The fabrics on the front are in quite good condition but sadly the fabric on the back which is a stripe is rotting.

Not long until we take my patterns and books to Spring market in the USA and I am now excited and nervous, my freight will leave this week and then I can plan what clothing I need as I think it will be much colder there than here!

The vintage quilt os gorgeous, love the colours

Love the new patterns and that lovely old quilt. Best wishes for the U.S. trip. I am off to Houston in October with Karen (Mrs Martin), can't wait. Not taking much with us but hope to bring lots home, an old quilt would be great.

Hey Lynette! The Heartsease you showed were lovely! They're one of my fave garden plants because not only are they cheerful and colourful, they self-seed, so come back year after year! We used to call them "Mickey Mouse Flowers" cos they look like they have faces and mouse ears! Lovely old quilt - if only quilts could talk, we'd hear some stories!! Bear Hugs!
