Relaxed ...
We have had a fabulous few days with my mum and dad at their beach house..... its was so peaceful and relaxing. Lots of books have been read, some, The Story Of Tibet will take a bit of dedicated reading to finish, others were a quick good read.
Some good food has been consumed, the dogs played in the sand and Hugo has learnt to swim!
On the two hour drive up to the beach house we passed these lovely horses, which I think are Brumbies.
Then we saw these gorgeous gum trees which were a little of the track but worth the bumpy sandy road we had to go along to see them.
The sunsets were magnificent...
We went into Maryborough to the supermarket because the person who packed the food (yes, that was me) forgot a vital ingredient! We managed a quick stop at Patchwork On Pallas where I bought a couple of bits of fabric, I was thrilled to see the quilt from my book Bearly Stitched on display. I also spotted about six packets of the discontinued parcel buttons that go with this stitchery pillow, I didnt see the angel but angel buttons are reasonably easy to find. If you are interested in the three parcel buttons or the pattern you can email Leanne to enquire.
Now we are back home and the washing is up to date! Vince goes back to work on Monday and I need to start planning what things I would like to make this coming year! Thats funny me making a plan about what to make...I never stick to plans and in any case the ideas never arrive in an organised way, they spill out haphazardly, often two or three ideas at once, so a quick drawing and a bit of a stitch and when I can see where the idea is going I move to the next. That way when all the ideas are on paper I can settle back and work on those brief quick ideas to refine them. Then I have fun playing with fabrics and threads and enjoy the whole process of making something.
My beautiful daughter in law, Shona has decided to be brave and get her head shaved to raise funds for Leukemia. Here's a picture of her with my mum on her wedding day last year.
So, if any of you are feeling generous today it would be wonderful for her if you could sponsor her, you can visit her site here. Every $1 makes a difference, thanks from us all in advance.
