A little while ago I asked if anyone had made something from one of my patterns and to show it on their blog, well take a visit here to see some beautifully stitched needlecases and bags and here , you need to scroll down a bit on this blog to find a very bright and cheerful Friends For Christmas.
Please leave these ladies a message so they know you dropped by.
These two cute characters are from Maileg, we bought them in Norway but as I look at the website I see I may be able to find a store that stocks them and their adorable friends here in Australia.
Progress has been slow this week for my new BOM A Scandinavian Christmas as we have been out partying!
Yesterday afternoon we went barefoot bowling,
The local bowls club offers barefoot bowling to groups who are not members and who dont have the special shoes, we had such fun despite the heat. There was a delicious BBQ lunch to follow which was thankfully indoors in the cool.
I am pleased with how nicely this cute little 3" churn dash block has turned out
Ok, well I am off to cut and make a few more lots and lots more churn dash blocks, I hope you are having a great day today.
Mindy from UT sent me this picture of her Butterfly quilt, she has used batik fabrics and I think you will agree it looks great. She has made less pinwheels for her border which I think looks great.
Thanks for sharing with us Mindy. Do you have something you have made form one of my patterns you would like me to show? Hang on I have a better idea, show your item on your blog, let me know and I will do a link back to it so everyone can come and visit you.
I made this sweet little pillow back in '99 as a display for my store. It now lives at home with me and since its a bit shy can only be seen at this time of the year!
Designed by Sally and Alice of Kindred Spirits and from this book which is filled with wonderful inspirational ideas. I think much to my delight I have almost all of the books these wonderful designers produced, a few are even signed copies! I am not sure if this book is still in publication but its worth hunting for.
Today I am working on a bit more of my new for next year BOM, Scandinavian Christmas. Would you like a bit more of a peek?????
We have as you know been having a few storms the last couple of weeks and this cloud was part of another storm front that came past our house. It reminded me of that film with aliens, it starred Tom Cruise. Thankfully this cloud was only filled with rain drops, now what was that movie called???
As for my sewing, well its coming along, not time for a reveal yet ...... but here is a peek... pretty dont you think!
I have finished decorating the house, this quilt 'The Real Santa' is one I designed several years ago but is still one of my favourites and this year its very much in keeping with my red and white decorating theme.
This gorgeous new bundle of fabrics and threads arrived in the post this week,
The fabrics are from a collection by Robyn Pandolph they are so soft and pretty, the collection is called Beach House and will be available nearly next year. I am a bit jealous of the ribbon that the bundle is tied with as it has her name written on it, very special. The project that I will be using them for is a bit 'hush hush' at the moment but keep watching this space as all will be revealed in time.
Last week (or was it the week before) I took these gorgeous photos of a storm as it crossed the skies near our house. Can you see my Christmas lights wound up the palm trees, dont they look fun.
As you can see the sky was a very weird colour and we wondered what sort of storm it was, maybe hail? Then it seemed that it was just going to be a dry storm, the suddenly we got a very brief heavy downfall of rain with strong winds.
