This is the little 'bonus' coin purse pattern that you get for signing up, its been great seeing some finished ones already. Many of you have emailed to ask where to buy the nice little zips with the bobbles on the ends, try here you can buy them as singles or in a pack of 5 in case you want to make more coin purses as gifts.

Purse zippers

I also have the zips with the little faux leather cuties hanging on the ends, there are toadstools, birds, ladybugs and sheep....not sure which is my favourite but you can get them here (dont forget if you are a LAPC member to claim your 10% discount)

Zippers with charms

Many of you have already correctly guessed from the bonus coin purse project that the first pattern will be for a bag...well here is a little peek at the gorgeous handles that I have used on my project. They are really good quality faux leather where they get stitched onto the bag, the handle itself is like a braid with the nicest lace stitched on top. I have got some of these bag handles in my store too, I used the cream ones but depending on what colour fabrics you choose to make your bag from you may want the brown ones. Or you may have some bag handles in your stash already...perfect!

Well, I have a million or more things still to do before I leave on thursday so...bye for now x x

Go! Baby...

This was what was in the other box that arrived yesterday, pretty exciting...a new toy to play with, thank you Accuquilt. I have been dying to have a try with one of these great tools as I find as I get older my hands dont like cutting as much as they used to and this little baby may just make things a bit easier fro some projects.

Go baby1

I know I am probably not going to get to play with my new baby until after my trip to Europe as I still have a million things to prepare before I leave but I have a few ideas of what I would like to make with its help when I get home. If your interested in getting 22 free patterns visit here and sign up to get the AccuQuilt newsletter.

Exciting parcel..

It was with great excitment that I opened the door to Mr Postman yesterday, he cheefully handed me my package and without a backward glance I rushed back indoors to rip it open! Inside were the 1m lengths of  from my new fabric collection 'Secret Garden'(to be released in Oct/Nov). I carefully unfolded them and loving admired and stroked each piece my sweet son Tom kindly cut them for me. His help was a trade off, I ironed his shirt and polished his shoes (coz I am good at making shoes shiny), he is going to a College ball with his girlfriend.

Tiny house
A few hours after the parcel arrived I was happily machining and pressing my little pieces to make a sweet little quilt (In Full Bloom) for my new stitcheries to be appliqued onto.

I hope that you have enjoyed the little peek into my day x x

French Knots and Needlecase..

I was very excited to be invited to be a part of We Love French Knots, a brand new blog that is dedicated to embroidery. As you all know I have been incorportaing embroidery or stitchery as I call it into my designs for many years and now it seems that the embroidery bug has bitten everyone which is very exciting. The new blog is great for help with 'how to' stitches and has a number of patterns that are available to download.

If you want to know all my secrets why not visit We Love French Knots and find out all there is to know in my interview. While you are there you can download the pattern for this sweet needlekeep that I have designed specially for We Love French Knots.

In Full Bloom..

Time for a break from stitching for me and what nicer thing to do than have a cup of tea and write to you all. I have had fun setting up a little picture using some cute little peat pots as a holder for my stitcheries, I found the pots in mums garden shed along with some gardening tools that have seen better days!

In Full Bloom1

The wooden buttons tell you the name of my next fabric collection and the sweet pottery tags...well, they came from my favourite gift shop Giddy and Grace.

In Full Bloom2

I hope you are having a great day and managing to get some stitching done. My next job today is to design a nice new bag for me to take on my travels, not sure if I will have time to make it but it will be fun trying.

Brown dog, white dog..

I needeed a change from doing stitchery so today I had a play with a new applique design. I am doing blanket stitch applique and using a rather lovely but very open weave cotton for the background. The fabric is a gorgeous colour but I am worried that if I ever wash the quilt with the openess of the weave the quilt could shrink, yes, you guessed I am lazy and never wash my fabrics before making a quilt!!  This will be a wall hanging so perhaps it will never get washed! I wont worry anymore but will just enjoy the fabrics I have chosen.

Brown dog

This white dog looks innocent enough but he is really full of playfulness as only a young dog can be...wonder what he is planning on doing with the flag?

White dog

If you love blanket stitch but have never quite got the hang of getting around the corners without the threads curling over the edges you may like to take a look at my tutorial. The tutorial is in two parts, here is part one and here is part two

Let me know what you think.
