Well after a long drive from Nantes to The Netherlands yesterday, I spent today having a much needed quiet day reflecting on the people I had met and the things I had seen and working out what I took photos of that I could share with you. As usual there were some wonderful displays, rooms set up to display some very talented quiltmakers quilts.
I fell in love with the quilts by Linda Koenig, a signed copy of her book 'Scrap Quilts' published by QuiltMania is coming home in my suitcase. Here we are together giggling as Mary Koval was trying to take our photo...needless to say we have a very funny video as that was the first button Mary pressed...and 'no' I am not showing you the video!
There was a fabulous bright display of quilts from Australian designer Kathy Doughty who has a lovely book published by Quiltmania which is called 'Making Quilts...the promise of joy'.
Japanese quiltmaker Reiko Kato had a wonderful display, this little quilt of houses caught my eye.
I particularly loved how the quilt blocks are joined by flowers.
Australian Brigitte Giblin had a wonderful display of quilts, the style is unmistakeable and her book 'Feathering The Nest' was filled with divine quilts for you to make. Visit Brigitte on Facebook.
Tomorrow I am teaching a workshop for Petra Prins in Zutphen and then on Wednesday I have a workshop in Amsterdam. There are lots of lovely goodies waiting in the classroom for the ladies who are joining me for the day.
Just look at these yummy bundles of 'Secret Garden' fabrics....
Its time for bed as it will be a busy day tomorrow x
