We have many ladies emailing to ask where they can purchase the Weeks Dye Works threads that I use in some of my patterns. Well I have good news...Emma has loaded some of the colours that I like to work with on to our online store. The threads are overdyed which gives them a really subtle blend of colours which for things lie the satin stitch flowers is really nice as it gives a soft shaded look.
There are 13 colours to choose from (so far), they look so nice all mixed together, I could play with them for ages they are so pretty and I love how the skeins are on the little cards.
Sae has been busy in the cutting room preparing more Orange Tree pillow kits and some Dog's Life fabric starter packs...
The orange kit comes with a pattern, hand painted wheelbarrow button, stitchery stabilizer and all the original Secret Garden fabrics you need to complete this gorgeous pillow. Hugo is such a show off, here he is modelling my Dogs Life quilt...wonder if he will give it back, it is so nice and warm and we have been having some chilly (for Queensland) nights.
This starter pack for A Dog's Life BOM contains 11 fat quarters (50cm x 55cm) and 1m of background fabric... which will put you well on your way to creating your beautiful quilt.
Now its time for me to begin to reveal a few little additions that are happening at the studio....up until now we have only been using 2/3rds of the studio/office space we moved into back in January....finally after alot of discussion, rather than rent the space out and share it with strangers we have decided to open a 'little quilt store'. Vince has been busy on the weekends putting up shelves, painting old cupboards and generally being an odd job man. I have been supervising as there is not much I can do while resting my arm, other than make the tea and pass the tools with my left hand of course!
I hope to have the store ready to open towards the end of this month (July) so if you live somewhere close by or are holidaying on the Sunshine Coast please drop in and say hello as we would love to meet you and show you round. The opening hours will be 9.30 to 5pm monday, tuesday, thursday and fridays.
