I have to say that I am very spoilt, there is not a day that goes by when I dont get alots of lovely emails from many of you. I dont manage to answer them all but I really do love getting them and try to answer as many as I can. Just occasionaly I get also get a special package in the mail....today I thought I would like to show you a few of the lovely things I have beensent this year.
This lovely fabric cover hides a spiral folder, the design on the front is from a pattern in my book 'Its Quilting Cats and Dogs'. The spiral folder itself is filled with plastic wallets where you can store paper patterns. I love the idea of keeping your patterns together in a safe place, so why not make a folder for each of your favourite designers patterns and then you will be able to find them easily :)
When I was recently in Melbourne I admired one of the students gorgoeus beaded scissor fobs and the sweet lady has sent me my very own purple set (I have to say that purple has been my favourite colour since I was about 14, just ask my mum about the colour carpet I had to have in my bedroom.....yes purple!)
Inside is a beautifully stitched LAPC logo (about the size of a mug rug) which includes my best friend Hugo rather than the rescally cat, I love how hugo's tongue has been embroidered hanging out of his mouth....its such a Hugo look!
This beautiful handmade lace bookmark came all the way from the UK, I have tucked it into my grandmothers prayer book as its a good place to keep special things. The prayer book was given to my grandmother in 1927 by my grandfather, it has some very special things inside it besides the prayers...
One of the treasures tucked inside the prayer book is the 1933 newspaper clipping of my dads birth announcement. There is a lock of hair from his first haircut and the sweetest drawing that he did on the front of a homemade card for is mums (my grans) birthday.
Grans prayer book is filled with many speciall memories like this and I am lucky to be the guardian of this book.
