With the sun still low in the sky behind as as we head off on our morning walk...what fun it is to see our shadows are walking ahead of us. I love the early morning as there is not many other people out and about.
The Jacaranda trees are just begining to flower, in the early morning light they almost look to be the same colour as the sky but if you look closely at the picture you will see in fact they are a gorgeous shade of mauve/purple.
This huge gum tree must be old to be so big, its trunk is a couple of metres around.
High above the big gum tree is a man made nesting platform, we have been watching the platform for weeks now. The large quantity of bird poo on the ground alerted us to look up and to see that the sea eagles (I think they are sea eagles but I am not good at bird identifying) are nesting :)
I only had my phone with me so sorry about the picture quality, this nest is really high but you can see the bird looking down at us.
This tree burl is getting bigger as the months go by.
We spotted this pelican as we walked towards the river, the pelican didnt know what to think of Hugo so he took the safe option and swam away!
The tide was out a long way in the river this morning so I decided we would walk along the bank, its very close to the river mouth here which is why its tidal and sandy.
Hugo can never resist a splash and swim,
I think his ultimate plan is to try to get me a wet as possible!
I had hoped that the kangaroo would be here on the river bank this morning so I could take her photo too but I think she is camera shy and was hiding...maybe tomorrow she will be here.
Do you have a ice place to walk?
