Romantic, love letters...I love getting a special card or a handwritten note. All the special letters that I have received over the years are tied with pretty ribbon safe in an old shoe box, do you have yours? I wonder with technology if our children write letters of any sort any more or do they just send text messages on the phone which could at any moment be lost and certianly cant be tied with ribbon.
Ah, enough romantising... I have been busy stitching, working on a new quilt, it still has a lot of work to be done but I thought your would enjoy a peek.
I am mixing Hollyhock Cottage fabrics with Follow My heart and adding background creams and some dark dark greens. There are 9 blocks in total each with a different style house, there is even a church. The wool flowers that you can see in the picture above have been applied using blanket stitch.
There are trees, fences, flowers and sweet birds with love letters in their mouths, you can see that I have used the alphabet fabric for the letters (its part of the Follow My Heart fabric collection) the birds are going to have teeny tiny buttons for thier eyes which once the quilting has been completed can be stitched in place.
Well I hope you have enjoyed the peek at one of the big projects I have been working on ready for next year.
If you want to get organised and ready you will need a fat eighth bundle of both Hollyhock Cottage and Follow My Heart to give the scrappy look that my quilt has + some very very dark greens and some cream for backgrounds.
