I spent two lovely days with ladies at Antique Angel in Gerrards Cross, UK. This is the group from day two, the garden was just outside the workshop room, some ladies were able sat outside to stitch and have their lunch.
The first day we enjoyed working on the Little House Block Book, I loved the colours Sally from The Patched Pumpkin chose for her sample.
There was lots of show and tell and I forgot to take photos of everything but here is Jackie's 'My Garden' quilt, she had fun with the bees by very effectively putting their flight trail across all the blocks, you can just see it in this photo.
These gorgeous table centre pieces were made by Valerie and Maureen, using the shape from my table centre piece in the book 'Stitch It For Christmas' interspersed with their own ideas and using drawings from my quilt pattern In Full Bloom.
The classroom was a lovely size and everyone was very busy stitching, there were two ladies from Spain and one lady from the Czeck Republic. Thank you Pavala for bringing me a lovely bundle of fabrics and some needle packs for my collection all the way form the Czeck Republic.
Some people were very organised with the preparations for the 1/4" hexagons that we had to make for the 'Dreaming Tree Journal Cover' thats one of the patterns in my new book 'Stitch It For Spring'.
We used double sided sticky tape to lightly hold the hexagons in place until they had ben stitched together, this is a great way of keeping things in place especially if your like me and has a cat who likes to help!
1/4" hexagon progress....slow but addictive!
A table full of happy ladies, behind them on the far right is 'show and tell' of the free to use Christmas Wishes quilt. You can find the pattern for it and many others here.
I had fun with my friends who kindly drove me to and from my hotel to the classroom most days.
A big thank you to Kylie from Antique Angel for hosting my visit here at Gerrards Cross, we had fun. Hope to see you again next year x
