The Peaceful Dove...

Yipee did I hear you all cheer? Thats good I am glad you are all enjoying yourselves, here she is the dove for my free Noahs Ark BOM ready for you to download.
I have also updated the mud map which is located in the photo album at the bottom of the column on the left, pretty cute so far dont you think?
Its been wonderful visiting all your blogs to see your rabbit blocks, so many different fabrics and threads, such fun, thanks for joining in, dont forget to let me know when you have posted about your dove.

I have always loved the Noahs Ark story and over the years I have collected a few wooden arks which I treasure and all of them are out on display in various location around my house. I have decided its time to shared one of them with you. This one was made by Jim Edmiston in 1984, I bought it from him at a wonderful craft fair that I went to in the UK with my Dad when he was still making and selling his silverware ( I will have to show you some of his work one day too).

Look inside... here are all the animals...they look very cosy dont they!

Its going to be a beautiful day here and I am planning on working all day on my 'Woof' quilt whilst enjoying my youngest sons company. Tom got home from 'survival' camp yesterday, he was so hungry we stopped at McDonalds on the way home from school, then after a big scrub in the shower he had two helpings of dinner and promptly feel into bed for a big sleep! I dont think he is really cut out for the outdoor life, he loves his comforts and we really missed each other....long may that last!
happy stitching

19 days...

In 19 days time I will be teaching in Tasmania at The Quilted Crows Annual Autumn Gathering. I cant wait to get back to Tasmania, we had a weeks holiday there last year and its such a beautiful part of the world with so many wonderful things to see and eat, I am sure I need to go there again. I am not exactly sure how much time for sightseeing I will have this time as I will be busy getting people started on their projects and meeting some bogging friends who tell me they are booked in and ready for the day. Looking forward to meeting Christine and her sister, also Jo with whom I am going to have alot of fun as we have organised to do an Autumn swap with each other at the Gathering...hmmm... better get that secret Autumn gift finished off and wrapped ready.
I was asked to design two projects with a star theme, this combined with the word Autumn for me meant pumpkins and of course crows! Here is my specially designed cushion which combines stitchery and applique giving a wonderful sense of depth to the piece, to challenge myself I have made the workshop sample up in two colourways and I love both.
Which is your favourite?
My second offering is a very cute punchneedle purse, which also has some stitchery on it, an ideal project for your first time at punchneedle, have you tried it yet?
The patterns for these two projects will be available from your favourite quilt shop after 19th April (Gathering day), or on the day from Deidre and Leonie at The Quilted Crow, who will only be too happy to take your pre-orders for these patterns.
Have fun today,
PS. I didnt stop at just the Autumn cushion design, I have in fact done all the seasons and given instructions on how if you have collected all four patterns you can combine them to make a gorgeous wallquilt.
