See the 'how to' stitches... working towards the point of an applique shape using the method I showed previously.
Once you reach the point you stitch needs to be angled nicely,
Pull the stitch firmly but gently into place
Add a locking stitch by putting the needle in behind the stitch
pull the thread through to the back
restart the stitches by coming out as close to the last stitch. Dont you just love my thumb that big! Yuk, maybe I need to put some handcream on!
continue stitching
Treat curves in the same way by adding a locking stitch, I tend to do this every couple of stitches.
Many of you have sent me wonderful emails telling me you have already tried this new stitch with great results, I am so glad it has helped. I first did this stitch about 12 maybe 14 years ago as I was not happy with the results the general method gave and I hope that many of you will now be converted to this 'two step' method. Let me know how you are getting along.
