Its been one of those weeks when I have had to wade through a huge pile of work, the consequence of having three weeks having fun in Europe!! Every so often as I slowly work my way through the almost overwhelming amount of emails (alot of which are junk) I come across an email that makes me smile, so today I though I would share a couple of the pictures that made me happy.

This cute quilt has been designed by Libby who I sent a bundle of my advance yardage in the hope that it would kick start her creative juices, and it did. Libby tells me this quilt pattern is almost ready to hit the stores, its so cute. Visit Libby on her Facebook page ArtSmart Craft Cottage

Pretty pincushions...

I am having such fun playing with my new fabric collection 'Secret Garden'....

Pincushion pattern and fabrics

I am slowly working my way through this pile of squares and strips making 150 pincushion kits ready for my Schoolhouse presentation at Quilt Market, Houston next month. The pincushion patterns are printed and have new gorgeous giant flower buttons glued in place (its OK, its temporary glue).

So, if you are a store attending Schoolhouse, please be early for my presentation to ensure you get a seat and one of these cute kits. Perhaps if you stitch like crazy all evening your sample will be finished ready for show and tell and just maybe there will be a prize for the first completed pincushion delivered to my booth #582.

Gifts galore..I'm spoilt..thank you x

We ae home safe and I have spent today catching up on the news from the office here and sharing my news from the trip with everyone.

I was very spoilt by many of the ladies in my classes, thank you x x I was given this beautifully decorated jar cover from Isa. The crochet is wonderful, Isa uses handdyed threads and the wool felt applique she has done featuring my two best friends is just gorgeous. The jar used to have a candle in it and the delicious smell still lingers...mmm

Hugo and felix jar

Maybe I need to re-learn how to crochet as I love the dimensional look it adds to the applique, do you?

My Sunday Afternoon...

3 pincushion jars

I found a tutorial a few months ago that I have been meaning to do.  I managed to find the time on Sunday to sit down and make these sweet jar pincushons. I decided that I would use the 'Stitches' fabric that I bought in Hugo's fabric sale.

Open blue jar

They are just pefect for keeping all my fimo buttons and pins that I just had to buy :)

Yellow top

The circle of writing on one of the prints was the perfect size for my pincushion top...they were very easy to make and were a lot of fun.

Visit here for the tutorial

ps. Hugo is still having his fabric sale, so visit here to see all his goodies

Sleepy hugo

Packing and posting all the orders from the sale really wore him out!

Class project and a Castle..

This class project was a new bag, called 'Shepherds Cottage', the ladies had alot of fun trying 'new to them' embrodiery stitches and hexagons.

Michéle brought her 'Christmas Fun' blocks for show and tell, she has had alot of fun incorporting wool applique, extra buttons from her tash and some lovely red beads to replace the French knot berries on the angel block. I love the grey/blue background colour she used so I bought some similar to it from Cotton and Color, hope I can squeeze it into my suitcase!

We set off from Cotton and Color tuesday morning heading back to France with a slight sightseeing tour on the way! I spotted this rather interesting roof peeking above the trees and Vince kindly turned off the road so we could explore... I love castles...

We parked the car and set off on foot heading twoard this entry and hoping that we were allowed to enter. The bridge crossed a river, giving a natural moat to the buildings.

This wonderful very old wooden bridge was just the other side of the entry it crossed what once was the moat. The timbers used for the bridge were huge, I can only imagine the size and height of the trees that were cut to make this bridge.

Nice gate! This was the best peek at the old castle, when we got a little closer it looked as its its now used as offices. Can you imagine going to work in a castle everyday! Wow....

Even nicer old lock, this was situated right where the old gates/portcullis would ahve been.

In case you want to visit this beautiful place it was called Zwingen Castle, Switzerland.

Today is the last day of the show in Sainte Marie aux Mines, France. Vince and I have been so busy, talking and selling patterns its been wonderful.

Hugo's Fabric Sale...

Hugo was wandering around the office today looking quite bored.... so we decided to give him a job :)

Stitches bolts

Hugo is in charge of our little fabric sale. He sees himself as a "model" so placed himself in such a way  that he is the centre of attention instead of these pretty bolts of Lynette's 'Stitches' fabric.

Hugo and stitches

He is even wearing his lovely blue Stitches fabric collar that his mummy made him; perfect for his fabric sale photo shoot.

Hugo stitches collar

Hugo also has for sale the very cute 'Snowmen Make Me Smile' Fabric collection and he even has flannel bundles (they are so soft).

Close up snowball fun

Both Hugo and I just love the sweet applique snowballs on Lynette's Snowball Fun quilt...although Hugo is just a little jealous that Felix is on the quilt and not him!

Snowball close up

If you would like to see all the fabric that Hugo has on sale please visit our online store.

Have a great weekend!
