First stop - Loris Country Cottage
Thursday, May 30, 2013
For our first night in Canada, we decided to be daring (for us) and not book accomodation but rather to choose somewhere that looked nice...well can you imagine my excitement when we rounded a corner in Banff and spotted this huge castle looking hotel.....
We were so lucky as they had a room available and this was the view from our window...WOW...
There were gophers at the edge of the playground! Cute little creatures but probably not much liked if you enjoy gardening!
We took a stroll along the river bank down to the town from our hotel, the scenery was gorgeous.
I loved that the trunk of this tree looked like...not sure what had caused it to look like this (probably a disease of some sort).
Not many Spring flowers out yet but these daisies and dandelions were everywhere along the walkway.
First stop for my workshops was Lori's Country Cottage in Edmonton, Canada. I have a wonderful day with these ladies, we stitched and chatted while working on the 'Blossom Tree'.
Lori's store is filled with wonderful displays, fabrics, threads and her staff are so friendly and helpful. Just look at this great display of my fabrics......all the collections mixed together makes you realise that they would all look great in a quilt. I feel a scrappy quilt coming on!
The ladies did lots of fabric shopping and the store looked like a whirlwind had gone through it.... I loved what this pile of 'Wildflower Wood' fabrics looked like after 'shopping' had been done!
Lori and her team had made kits for 'Love Letters', my new BOM that include the pattern set.
They had also made kits for my 'free to use' quilt pattern 'Wish Upon A Star'.
If you are interested in either of these kits please contact Lori at Lori's Country Cottage.
bye for now
