Quilt Sherpa and I arrived in Denver last week to this lovely welcome at the F&W studios where we were going to film my online class in 'Hand Embroidery Stitching and Appliqué' for Craft University. I am so excited about this opportunity, so many of you have expressed an interest in joining me in a class, sadly I cant get everywhere on the planet this year so here is your chance!
The project that we will be working on is called "Forest Floor Table Runner' ( sneek peek in the picture below). Its made using fabrics from my 'Stonehouse Garden' fabric collection with a Bread and Butter cream tonal for the background and is so sweet I know your going to love it.
During the course I will show you how to transfer the stitchery design, prepare the hexagons, prepare the little shapes for appliqué using the revolutionary Apliquick tools, there will be lots of little tips and tricks along the way. We will work our way through some embroidery stitches together and you will feel as if I am right in the room with you.
Here we are getting the 'stage' set ready for filming. The big cameras and lights were a bit scary but everyone was so friendly it turned out to be lots of fun.
Craft University will have fabric kits available for you and the other supplies needed for the project will be listed with links to where you can buy them. I have amongst other things put together a special Valdani embroidery floss pack for this project.
Quilt Sherpa (Vince) was allowed as long as he promised to be quiet to sit inside the control room so he could see how the magic happens.
We did have one mini 'almost disaster' when we realised we have put two of my quilts into a bucket of water.....good job it was a lovely sunny day and we were able to dry them outside. The positive thing about thes is that I now know for sure is that the Valdani Floss is colourfast.
A big thank you to the fantastic team at Golden in Colorado that I worked with last week, they were so professional and kind to me. See how big our smiles are once we had finished the filming!! I am so looking forward to you joining me in the workshop next year.
One of the best things about this class is that you can ask questions along the way and have fun posting pictures in the gallery so we can all see each others progress.
So, if your interested head to Craft University where you can read more about my class and if you wish to pre-register, for a limited time you can get 20% off the class if you pre-register by using the code PREREG20
bye for now
